old gun

The graffiti spits a cat, and
i feel bad for the bricks. they lay
under a rushing train- built from night.

I am hollow to the day until we meet
where our scents combine, loose, light
and away from the war of the city.

There are gifts in our disturbance
that no life can touch, but do
and into a river, remembering our blood.
